Submerged Arc Welding (SAW) is a common welding process that is ideally suited for longitudinal and circumferential butt and filet welds due to its high fluidity of the weld pool. SAW requires continuously fed consumable solid or tubular electrodes. The molten wire and arc zone are protected from atmospheric contamination by submerging under a blanket of fusible flux consisting of lime, silica, manganese oxide calcium fluoride and other compounds. This welding process is normally operated in an automatic or mechanized mode with a single wire and AC or DC current.

The SAW method is utilized by the welding experts at Weldall Manufacturing. Weldall’s custom welding fabrications are completed for use in automation and production, the construction industry, material handling, mining industry, municipal and government contracts, nuclear industry, power generation, rail industry and wind energy equipment.

Certain types of welding have a high porosity rate which leads to the integrity of a structure. Other types do not have sufficient penetration of the metal surfaces being welded. Melt-through rates due to high current can also be a problem.  And yet other weld processes create surface pock marks which are both not pleasing to the eye and can bring a manufactured piece’s integrity into question.

Weldall Manufacturing employs highly skilled welders who are AWS Welders that employ custom welding fabrication in medium to large weldments. The SAW welding procedure is a highly productive tool for their fabricators. Weldall Manufacturing’s welders understand and control this type of weld process through experience and education, creating high weld quality, high deposit rate, and deep penetration. Submerged Arc Welding produces light fume emission and creates an atmosphere for high speed welding.

Weldall Manufacturing is a medium to large weldment fabricator with a highly skilled and dedicated workforce. Their AWS welders, along with their secondary machining operations, are required to complete intricate custom heavy duty equipment fabrication projects.  With the flexibility and ingenuity of their team, they will exceed your prototype to production needs – no matter the size.
